Fall Fun

Apple Dumplings!

"Apple dumplings were very, very good and very easy to make.  One looked like it was falling down a little but I ate that one. They are just de-lic-ious.  I repeat: delicious!"  -Jack

Jack's 7th Birthday!

Jack wanted a Yoda cake for his birthday...

He helped to make the cake from scratch.

Getting the color just right.

Taste test!

Eating the cake with the cousins was the best part!

Jack received a generous gift from Grandpa Walter and Grandma Stama!

So he was able to buy the coveted Nerf Vulcan!

More birthday fun at Krispy Kreme!

We surprised Jack with a trip to Mountasia with Grandma Max and Grandpa Larry.

And lunch at Farrell's.

Field trip to Bennett's Honey Farm with Grandpa and Grandma

Jack went on an interesting field trip to Bennett's Honey Farm.  Here is what Jack had to say about his visit:

Killer bees!  The queens are killer bees.  If another queen comes into the hive, the other queen kills it.  Also, queen bees live for five years.  Also, there's boy bees and girl bees.  And the boy bees have to mate with the girl bees and sometimes the girl bees eat the boy bees after they mate.

You can clean wounds with honey.

The worker bees have little sacks attached to their feet and fur and they collect pollen.  Sacks are white and they turn into honey and that's how you get honey.

The queen bee has a number 17.  She doesn't have any stinger.  She is bigger than the other bees.

The workers only live for 15 days!

The honey tasting: There's many kinds of flavors of honey from different trees.  One of my favorites, but not my favorite-favorite, was the cactus honey.  It has a really good flavor to it.  There was orange, and avocado, my favorite.  It tastes so good!

Then Jack went down the road to the Fish Hatchery, a place he often visits with his grandparents.

"The fish are very hungry and they kinda attack each other.  I told one of the persons that worked there that a fish was dead and the worker took out the fish."
